Humanities First, directed by UW Classics Professor Sarah Culpepper Stroup, is excited to present its first-ever career panel, wholly organized and led by the Humanities First intern-mentors of Humanities 208. On this panel you will meet five graduates of the UW Humanities Division, who will discuss their careers—from engineering manager at Meta, to editor for Penguin Books, to business owner in Baltimore—and the paths they took to get there.

All undergraduates (and anyone else interested) are invited to attend the virtual panel and participate in the moderated Q&A session that follows. You can register here.

The panelists include:

  • Jesse Anarde (Classical Studies and History): Head of Technical Support Engineering, Meta
  • Bénédicte Bicaba (French and Anthropology): Co-founder and President, Botiminto & Institutional Partnerships Associate, Muso
  • David Ryder (Comparative History of Ideas): Independent Photographer and Filmmaker
  • Michael Seguin (Classics and Latin): Owner, Mobtown Ballroom
  • Maggie Le (Japanese and Journalism): Editor (Kodansha), Penguin Random House
