At the 2024 Association of Ancient Historians meeting, Prof. Deb Kamen was honored with the Randall Howarth Prize for Excellence in Mentoring. This prize recognizes outstanding mentors who model scholarly excellence and integrity, who support their mentees in reaching their potential, and who guide mentees as they become members of a community of ancient historians. Kamen’s award specifically cited her generosity with her time and feedback at every stage of her mentees’ graduate education and job searches, including her careful attention to their individual goals and her tireless support of all her students, especially those with marginalized identities. Congratulations, Prof. Kamen, and thank you for everything you do for our students!
