OMA&D Rome Program 2019

In 1995 the Department of Classics partnered with the Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity (OMA&D) to create a 10 day foreign study program for students who entered the University of Washington through the Educational Opportunity Program. The program celebrated its 24th birthday this Spring, when 12 students, led by Classics Professor James Clauss, were introduced to the Eternal City. The program is subsidized by the Department of Classics, OMA&D, the Office of the Provost, and private scholarships so that students who normally do not have the resources to study abroad will have an affordable opportunity to do so. This year’s participants included Cherry Arcilla, Malia Clark, Joseph Decena, Diana Greenaway, David Guan, Alejandro Huante, Mykel Johnson, Susan Lu, Rahel Nuguse, Jonathan Seto, Hesbeyda Villafana, and Wade Washington.
