A degree in Classics prepares one for any number of jobs and careers. While some will choose to pursue graduate studies in Classics or related disciplines, most will choose other career paths. Graduates of this department have gone on to become lawyers, doctors, journalists, teachers, etc. Alumni frequently comment to us about how much the study of Classics contributed to success in their various endeavors.
For those interested in learning more about some of the possible career paths available to someone with a degree in Classics, the American Philological Association has published a guide (2012) entitled Careers for Classicists in Today's World, written by Kenneth F. Kitchell, a professor in the Department of Classics at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. You may find the guide by clicking here.
