Biography

B.A., Biology, St. Olaf College, 2019
B.A., Latin, St. Olaf College, 2022
Postbaccalaureate, Classical Studies, College of William and Mary, 2023

Christian Alexander Wolfgram is a graduate student in Classics at the University of Washington. After studying both biology and Latin as an undergrad, he initially pursued a medical career, but the irresistible draw of classics instead led him to the Pacific Northwest in search of a PhD. His background in STEM led to his primary research interest in ancient Greek and Latin didactic poetry; Hesiod and Aratus have commanded much of his recent attention. Such literature also closely connects with his passion for teaching, something he loves more than almost anything, and he considers it a crucial part of his vocation to share the knowledge and beauty of the past with the world. In his free time, Christian is an avid birdwatcher (the American Dipper is his favorite bird) as well as a reader, writer, and committer-to-memory of English poetry. He is also a former professional esports athlete and amateur curler.
