It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Chris Hurley. An extraordinarily successful lawyer, Chris returned to the classroom several years ago to pursue his deep interest in Classics. Several of us were privileged to have had Chris in our classes, where he was always a very welcome presence. Possessed of an incredibly sharp and generous mind, Chris enlivened every class with his wisdom, inquisitiveness, and an unfailingly helpful and supportive attitude toward his fellow students. Through his courage and dignity, he certainly taught us a good deal more than we taught him. All of us in the Department of Classics send our deepest condolences and sympathy to Chris' family.
