The Classics Department is pleased to invite applications for the JIM GREENFIELD UNDERGRADUATE SUMMER LANGUAGE STUDY scholarship.
The award is intended for undergraduate students studying Classics. You do not need to be a major or minor in Classics to apply. The object of this scholarship is to enable exceptionally well-qualified students to study Greek and/or Latin over the summer at the University of Washington. While the first criterion is academic promise, an applicant's current means of support will also be taken into consideration.
Awards for summer 2025 will be made on a competitive basis. To apply for a Jim Greenfield Undergraduate Summer Language Study Scholarship, please use our UW Classics Scholarship Application Form (n.b. this form works best in the Chrome browser). Mark your status as Undergraduate, then select "Jim Greenfield Undergraduate Summer Language Study Scholarship". You will be asked to include a statement of between 300 and 500 words discussing your intended summer language study plans, and how these plans will enrich your study and appreciation of the Classical world. You will also need to upload a copy of your transcript (unofficial is fine).
Applications may be submitted at any time.
All qualified students are encouraged to apply.
