Goals of the course:
- Gain an understanding of the nature of ancient mythic storytelling in general.
- Survey Greek and some Roman Mythology, with a focus on the historical, religious, cultural and psychological issues underlying them.
- Observe the reception of ancient mythology in art and literature.
Requirements:
Read the material assigned for each class (see below)
2 Exams: Midterm: Monday, July 29 [50 points]
Final: Friday, August 23 [50 points]
NB: Both exams will be multiple-choice tests and will require mark-sense forms. The exams must be taken at the time when they are scheduled.
