In memoriam: Diskin Clay

Submitted by Alain M Gowing on July 9, 2014 - 3:04pm

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Diskin Clay (PhD '67), who was one of the first recipients of a PhD from this department in the early years of the graduate program. Diskin was a towering and much respected figure in our field.  Up until his retirement in 2008 he was R.J.R. Nabisco Distinguished Professor of Classical Studies at Duke University.  He had a long and distinguished academic career, and will be sorely missed by those of us who knew him.

For details on his life and career, please click here to be directed to his obituary.

Alumni and friends may wish to visit the University of Washington Memorial page for Diskin.
